1. Information We Handle

Depending on the features you use, Cloud Backup: Photo Storage may handle the following categories of information.

Account and Authentication Information

To create and use an account, the App may handle:

  • Email address
  • Account identifier
  • Authentication and verification information
  • One-time password (OTP) information
  • Sign-in events and related technical information

Your email address may be used for account registration, sign-in, account verification, security, and account-related communications.

OTP codes may be sent to your email address to verify account access and protect your account.

Where password-based authentication is supported, authentication credentials may be processed by the applicable authentication service and are not intended to be stored by Cell Cave as plain-text passwords.

Account and authentication services may use Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.

Technical and Device Information

Depending on the features and third-party services used, the App and its service providers may process technical information such as:

  • Device model
  • Operating system and version
  • App version
  • Device and app identifiers
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Language and general device settings
  • IP address
  • Network information
  • Crash and diagnostic information
  • Performance information
  • App usage and interaction information

This information may be used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, monetize, and improve the App and its services.

2. Backup Content

The App allows users to back up supported content to cloud storage.

Depending on the features enabled and permissions granted, supported backup content may include:

  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Documents and files
  • Audio files
  • Contacts

Backup files are encrypted on the user's device before they are transferred to cloud storage.

Encrypted backup data is stored using Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure.

Access to Backup Contents

Backup files are encrypted before leaving the user's device.

Cell Cave does not have access to the contents of the user's encrypted backup files through the normal cloud-storage process.

The App may retrieve encrypted backup data to an authenticated user's device when the user chooses to restore their backed-up content.

Backup and restore functionality may require an internet connection.

3. Device Permissions

The App may request Android permissions when they are necessary for a feature that the user chooses to use.

Photos, Videos and Media

The App may request access to photos, videos, and other supported media so users can select content for backup or restore.

Where supported by Android, users may be able to choose:

  • Full access
  • Limited access
  • No access

The App uses the level of access granted by the user through Android's permission controls.

Contacts

The App may request Contacts permission when the user chooses to back up or restore contacts.

Contacts access is used to provide the supported contact backup and restore functionality.

Other Permissions

If additional permissions such as camera, nearby-device, file, or other device access are introduced or required for a specific feature, the App will request those permissions through the applicable Android permission mechanism and use them for the related functionality.

Users can manage or revoke applicable permissions through Android device settings.

If a required permission is denied, the related feature may not be available.

4. In-App Assistant

The App may provide an optional assistant that allows users to enter questions and receive generated responses.

When a user chooses to use the assistant, the text entered by the user must be transmitted to and processed by the services supporting the assistant in order to generate a response.

Assistant functionality may use Amazon Web Services (AWS) and AWS-supported services.

The assistant is optional and is not required for ordinary backup and restore functionality.

Please Do Not Enter Sensitive Information

  • Passwords
  • Payment card numbers
  • OTP codes
  • Authentication credentials
  • Private security information
  • Other highly sensitive personal information

Assistant requests may be processed by applicable third-party infrastructure providers as necessary to provide the requested response.

When third-party advertising networks are enabled through AdMob Mediation, those providers may independently process certain information through their SDKs, bidding systems, or other advertising technologies.

Cell Cave does not control the independent privacy practices of these third-party advertising providers. Their processing may be governed by their respective privacy policies and applicable terms.
